East Preston Islamic College Seminar Day 2
We had a great time teaching the Year 9's today, thanks to Mr. Yassir Arab for arranging the event and also Mr. Junaid and Mr. Salim for participating.
The East Preston Islamic College (EPIC) is a private Islamic school located in East Preston, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. The school was established in 1986 by a group of parents who wanted to provide their children with an Islamic education.
Initially, the school was held in a small house, but as enrollment grew, the school moved to larger premises. In 1990, the school purchased a property in East Preston, which became the permanent location for the school.
EPIC provides education for students from kindergarten to year 12, with a focus on academic excellence and Islamic values. The school is registered with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) and follows the Australian Curriculum, as well as Islamic studies and Arabic language classes.
Over the years, the school has continued to grow and expand, with modern facilities and a diverse student body. The school has a strong focus on community involvement and has hosted a range of events and initiatives aimed at promoting interfaith dialogue and community cohesion.
EPIC has also been recognized for its academic achievements, with a number of its students receiving awards and recognition for their academic performance. The school has also been recognized for its commitment to sustainability, with initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint and promoting environmental awareness.
Overall, the East Preston Islamic College has become an important institution for the Muslim community in Melbourne, providing a high-quality education that combines academic excellence with Islamic values and community engagement.
